Role Brief:

We are looking for a Junior Product Manager with around two years’ experience to join our Product team at Spectrum.Life. You will support the delivery of products from discovery through to launch and ongoing improvement, working across our full product portfolio, with connected mental health at its core, under the guidance of the Head of Product and alongside more experienced Product Managers. This role suits someone who has built a solid foundation in product management and is ready to grow their scope, confidence and ownership.

You will bring a good grounding in product management practice and a willingness to learn how modern software is built. A technical understanding is desirable rather than essential, and we will support you to develop it. You won’t be expected to write code. You will be expected to turn needs into clear requirements, apply our prioritisation approach with discipline, and help take products to market and keep them improving.

You will work closely with our clinical, commercial, technical and data teams, so that what we build is clinically safe, commercially sound and valued by the organisations and people who use it. A clinical background is not required, though some understanding is desirable and we will help you build it. We operate in a regulated healthcare environment, and you will learn how to help us deliver at pace without compromising safety, quality or governance.

Responsibilities:

Product strategy and roadmap
  • Support the product vision, strategy and roadmap, bringing insight from clients, users, clinicians and delivery teams.
  • Contribute to business cases that set out customer value, commercial impact, effort and risk.
  • Use market insight, client feedback, usage data and outcomes data to help identify opportunities and inform what we build next.
Working as part of the Product team
  • Work as part of the wider Product team, alongside the other Product Managers and the Head of Product, sharing knowledge, standards and good practice.
  • Take part in roadmap, prioritisation and planning sessions, offering constructive challenge and aligning on shared decisions.
  • Track dependencies with other product workstreams and flag risks early, so that delivery across the portfolio stays joined up.
  • Take part in peer review of requirements and documentation, giving and receiving feedback, and cover for colleagues where needed.
Discovery and requirements
  • Take part in discovery with clients, members, clinicians and internal teams, leading elements of it with support, to understand needs, workflows and pain points.
  • Translate complex user journeys and business needs into clear epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Support stakeholder workshops and produce clear documentation, process flows and system diagrams.
Delivery
  • Manage and refine the product backlog for your products, prioritising features, enhancements and technical debt based on value, risk and effort, with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Work with engineering, QA, architecture and UX to plan, refine and deliver high-quality releases on time.
  • Run sprint ceremonies and product demos, and escalate blockers promptly to keep delivery moving.
  • Plan releases and publish clear release notes for stakeholders after each deployment.
  • Review and respond to small works and change requests, and manage them against roadmap priorities with support from the Head of Product.
Clinical governance and quality
  • Work with the Head of Product and internal clinical teams to embed clinical requirements and safety considerations from the start.
  • Support clinical sign-off, risk assessment and change control, keeping documentation audit ready.
  • Contribute to regulatory and quality documentation where products fall within a regulated framework, including requirements traceability.
Go-to-market and commercial support
  • Support Commercial and Marketing to position products and respond to bids and tenders, and join client meetings, with increasing responsibility, to explain product capability.
  • Help define and track success measures, including adoption, engagement, clinical outcomes and commercial performance, and act on what they show.
  • Support launch readiness with Customer Success and Operations, and provide post-launch support and iteration.
Ways of working
  • Work with the team to apply our product standards and ways of working consistently, sharing ideas and learning so that we keep improving together.
  • Keep documentation for your products in Jira and Confluence current and easy to find, so colleagues across product, engineering and clinical teams can rely on it.
  • Explore the responsible use of AI tools with the team, for example drafting requirements, refining documentation and supporting backlog management, and share what works.

Requirements:

Essential
  • Around two years’ experience in a product management or closely related role (for example Associate Product Manager, Product Owner or Business Analyst), contributing to digital products from concept through to live service.
  • A structured approach to problem solving, with curiosity, a willingness to learn quickly and the ability to act on feedback.
  • Good experience of Agile delivery and the ability to write clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Sound prioritisation skills, using evidence and a clear framework, and the confidence to say no as well as yes.
  • Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence, and experience producing process flows and diagrams in tools such as Lucidchart or similar.
  • Clear communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to explain ideas to technical and non-technical audiences and build credibility with senior colleagues.
  • Experience working with data and insight to make and evaluate product decisions.
  • Highly organised, detail-focused and able to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.

Desirable:

  • Some technical knowledge, such as a basic understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows and the software development lifecycle, and the confidence to hold informed conversations with engineers.
  • Experience of, or exposure to, healthcare, digital health, mental health or another regulated environment.
  • A basic understanding of clinical governance, data protection (UK GDPR) and clinical safety standards such as DCB0129 and DCB0160.
  • Awareness of medical device regulation (UK MDR, EU MDR) and ISO 13485-aligned quality management systems.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Monday.com or similar platforms.
  • Experience in B2B, B2B2C or payor and employer-facing propositions.
  • Product management or Agile certification, such as CSPO, PSM or similar.
  • Understanding of UX principles and experience working closely with design teams.
